Floris is a Registered Professional Architect in Pretoria with over a decade’s experience in residential and commercial architecture. With projects completed both nationally in South Africa and internationally, in Ireland and Indonesia, his expertise falls within a wide range of architectural disciplines, including residential and group housing, hotels, light industrial, commercial and architectural landscape design. Floris has honed his experience in sustainable architecture while heading up the green building department of a successful environmental consulting company, improving his skills in the fields of environmental impact assessments and landscape design as well as energy efficiency within the built environment. Floris earned his Bachelor’s degree in architecture in 2000, and completed his architectural candidacy in Pretoria, and achieved the Higher Certificate in Project Management from Damelin College. He was instrumental in coordinating the compilation of Energy Efficiency guideline documents for the Indonesian Government, and joined OLIVEHILL Architects as a partner in June 2012.
Irma van der Walt is a Registered Professional Architect in Pretoria, and the founding partner of OLIVEHILL Architects. Having completed her Bachelor’s degree in architecture in 2000, she is registered as a Professional Architect with The South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP), and she is also recognized as an accredited Green Star Professional with the Green Building Council of South Africa. With well over a decade of experience in residential and commercial architecture, Irma is committed to evolving the company’s values towards sustainable, green architectural solutions. Constantly looking for new ways to improve the quality of the services that they have to offer, her focus is on combining modern building design with greener and more efficient design solutions for her clientele. Having designed and planned building projects all over South Africa as well as internationally, her work includes residential, group housing, health care facilities, commercial and educational institutions as well as sports and recreational facilities.
